James Perunovich

From his law offices in Hibbing and Grand Rapids, Jim Perunovich has helped his clients in their complex legal matters that range from criminal defense and DWI charges to divorce and family law issues. A 1981 graduate of Hamline University, Jim attended Hamline School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 1986. A year later, he received his license to practice in Minnesota and admission to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, and later, the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. While at law school, Jim clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office in Minneapolis, in the Criminal Division.

Jim returned to his hometown in Hibbing and opened up his law practice almost 30 years ago, extending his reach to Grand Rapids, where he also has had an office for over 20 years time. Jim strongly believes that his experience and hard work is the reason he obtains favorable outcomes for his clients. He readily identifies issues and is able to focus his clients on solutions and attainable objectives. Jim recognizes the importance of the issues his clients are faced with, including the loss of liberty in criminal cases, as well as custodial, parenting time, and financial issues, in divorces. Jim has significant experience in trials in both criminal cases as well as divorces.
